About EE

EE were formed during a merger of Orange and T-Mobile in the UK, so they have a strong legacy network as a result of this.  They have also heavily invested in 4G and so have the best 4G network available in the UK.  In 2016 they were bought by BT (British Telecom) but still operate as a separate brand.  You can see more about the 4G frequencies available in the UK here.

Mobile phone users often like EE, particularly in urban areas, as they have plenty of capacity on their high speed 4G+ network.  This means that in London you’ll get fantastic speed but also, due to their history of Orange and T-Mobile, you’ll get good rural coverage.

EE sell mobile phone plans (prepaid and contract), handsets, home broadband and TV.

Where to buy

EE Mobile sell directly from their website, which can be found here, and EE Home Broadband can be found here.  The Carphone Warehouse are approved resellers of EE plans, so you can often take advantage of their handset offers to find a good deal.

Sometimes, but less reliably so, you can also find EE SIM cards on Amazon such as this.
